The “I” is one of the most important themes and motifs in Koneva’s artistic work. Her works say something about her self-definition as a woman, but also point to the alienation of women in our culture. Koneva tries to depict her “I” in the abstraction of an object, whereby concepts like self-love and exhaustion can be recognized in PLUSH-I and BURN-OUT. Changes and motion in phases of life can be associated with the process of finding oneself.
